

Hunger has always been one of the greatest enemies for those who suffer to eat one time a day. And this pandemic is bringing out the worst for them. Nepal is a developing country with very high number of underprivileged citizens. Due to the running Covid-19 pandemic and undefined lockdown throughout the country, those society are completely affected. Most of them are struggling to fulfil their basic needs and hunger. In such scenario addressing the victims and providing them a support with food seems very essential. Hence, the food donation campaign was initiated by Siris Youth Foundation.
The donation campaign was firstly organized at Kirtipur supporting 7 families. With the total reach of 100+ families till now addressing various location around Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur valley with the financial support of Association of St. Mary’s Alumnae Nepal (ASMAN), Rotary Club of Lalitpur Manjushree, Premier insurance Co. Nepal Ltd. And many other kind people. This program was legally supported by different wards and municipalities.
This program was targeted to provide a package of food item which will sustain for a month during this lockdown period for underprivileged or tenant who has difficulty in managing their daily meal and are financially weak. This program mostly includes old age people, pregnant women, disable and people who could not go home and suffering hunger.
